From KUSA/9News in Colorado: A heartwarming story unfolds after a feline firestorm (almost!) joined the response to a March 7 hazmat situation on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock, CO. A friendly orange tabby wandered onto the scene, capturing the hearts of firefighters and even attempting to commandeer a fire truck!
The crash, involving a semi-truck and resulting in lane closures for diesel fuel cleanup, left three people injured. But amidst the chaos, a furry friend emerged. This brave (or perhaps curious) cat quickly charmed the South Metro Fire Rescue crew.
Eventually, the cat was crated and taken to the local rescue shelter. His journey didn’t end there, though. In an update last week, South Metro Fire said the cat, now named “Hazi,” was adopted by one of the firefighters he met that day.
This is the happy ending we always want for these rescue stories!
